Villanova came out of a tough tournament which saw them defeat UNC Asheville, Iowa, Miami, Kansas, and Oklahoma before advancing to the NCAA Championship game against North Carolina. With the game tied in the closing seconds, Kris Jenkins pulled up and hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer to give Villanova their second National Championship in college basketball.
