This bolo tie is a statement of desert resilience and artistry.
At its center sits a rounded-rectangle White Buffalo turquoise cabochon, set horizontally in a serrated bezel. The stone’s bold black-and-white contrast is a reminder of balance and clarity in the landscape of life.
A hand-sawn saguaro cactus rises above the stone, crafted in two layers of sterling silver and soldered onto a substantial back plate (2 ¼" tall, 1 3/16" wide). The saguaro’s vertical ridges are inspired by the real cactus’s pleats, lines that swell with water intake and contract in dry spells, a living lesson in survival and adaptation.
The background is patina’d dark and hand-stamped with tiny stars, echoing the desert night sky. A silver border frames the design, tying stone, cactus, and sky together in one powerful talisman.
The bolo hangs from a light brown leather cord (46" — slightly longer than traditional), finished with handmade sterling silver end caps.
Pendant size: 2 ¼" tall x 1 3/16" wide
Stone: White Buffalo turquoise (rounded-corner rectangle)
Metal: Sterling silver throughout (including handmade end caps)
Cord: Light brown leather, 46" length
Finish: Patina + hand-stamped “x” stars + dot stars
✨ Symbolism: Saguaros swell and contract with the desert seasons, a reminder of strength in flexibility. Paired with White Buffalo turquoise — a stone of clarity and sacred connection — and a stamped starry sky, this bolo embodies the desert’s dual gifts: endurance and wonder.
